March Before DC

I love comparisons of my kids. These two are all 4 of them at 1 year old. They look so similar and yet have their own look all at the same time!

We went to the school silent auction where we got Brody a "Boondocks" trip with the 3rd grade teachers and Parker got an "Ice Cream Party" with the 1st grade teachers. I'm really trying to instill a love of experiences over stuff to my kids. It's a work in progress. Capri just loved getting her face painted!
Cannon man got his first haircut in the sink!

Cannon has skipped crawling and has discovered how to be  mobile via butt scoot. We have races sometimes and it is so much harder than it looks! He beats me every time.

I just showed up a week and a day early to a school assembly. There was randomly a percussion assembly of some sort going on for the 4th/5th graders and I just about went and sat down with them. Thankfully someone looked at me a little funny with my 3 year old and sleeping baby in a stroller and I decided maybe something wasn't right. πŸ˜‚I wish I could say this is the only thing I've done like this lately, but sadly it's become a daily occurrence. I'm a hot mess. 😳 #mombrain #probablyforever
Just the cutest 11 month old baby around!
At "Muffins with Mom" this morning. I was there but couldn't quite fit myself into the selfie. I feel like a traveling circus sometimes, but thankfully people are mostly patient with us. My favorite memory from this morning was from Brody who saw a mom in Army fatigues and said, "I wish one of my parents were in the Army so you guys could be heroes of the Republic." Ha! I'm such a disappointment. πŸ˜‚ Uncle Sammy, you have a fan! @lifeoflexis πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
First ever dance "recital" today. She decided she didn't want to do the tap number, but the ballet one was pretty darn cute! πŸ‘―πŸŽ€

Cannon man is still such a snuggle bug and I love it.

Really not a good picture of me, but I still love it so much. Baby boy loves giving kisses to momma. He makes my world go round. 🌎☀️
Oh just Capri playing keeper while she hangs out with the big boys. Our neighbor Trent is over here a lot and we don't mind one bit. They all have a lot of fun together!

Two little budding playing legos.

Maybe it's that he makes everyone walk him around, or the longer hair, or the overalls, but my baby all of a sudden looks like such a big boy. 😭

I hardly get to sleep in my bed anymore. haha! Look at how comfy he looks. Funny boy and his bunny.

I just need to give a πŸ‘ŠπŸ»to my oldest. Since last week the stomach bug has been making its way through our house and today it was my turn to have a fever and spend the day throwing up. 🀒(I'm so sorry to the RS committee who came over last night to make decorations for our activity next week. I really thought we were in the clear and I am SO sorry if I got any of you sick! I feel so bad!) About 2 o'clock I felt like there was no way I'd make it to 9 p.m. when Jared flies home. Thankfully a sweet neighbor brought my boys home from school and then Brody just took over. He brought me blankets, ice, put socks on my feet, made the kids dinner (even put the baby in and out of his high chair and fed him his solids), helped Parker with his homework, fed the baby a bottle, etc. He said, "Mom, you took such good care of me and now I need to take care of you!" He's such a sweet boy. I will be forever grateful for him stepping up today and helping me. Thank you Brody boy!

Cannon's first haircut. 😭#byebyecurls
Just a sweet Dad doing FHE with the kids. I'm grateful that even though he's gone a lot that he spends quality time with the kids when he's home. We are all big Daddy fans around here!
It will be a sad day when I stop finding Lego men ready to battle on random windowsills in my house.
11 Months!! He has now been dubbed "Scooter McGavin" πŸ˜‰around here and is getting more proficient at his funny mobility. He will eat anything I give him, is still almost always happy, loves to play peek-a-boo, read, and really loves his Dad. I can't believe we are just one month away from being one! I love it and hate it all at the same time. πŸ’™πŸ‘ΆπŸΌ#bumscooter
The weather the last few weeks has been absolutely perfect. We have loved being outside so much and have discovered my new favorite part of our house: the back deck. We have eaten more meals outside than in and have watched the sunset out there nearly every night. Cannon likes to watch the cars go by and make faces at his sister from his highchair. This place really is my little slice of heaven and brings me so much happiness. I'm so grateful to live by the mountains again. They are good for my soul. ❤️πŸŒ„

I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching that sweet face sleep. I love that he'll still sleep in my arms.

Our brackets are ready!!
Daddy is home on a weekday! Thank you Winter Storm Stella for keeping him home this week in CO in 75 degree weather. Where is Parker? Inside making sure his homework for the week is finished so he can focus all his attention on March Madness tomorrow. πŸ€πŸ˜‚

We went the the ENT and Capri took out my phone while the Dr. was in with us. I found this picture when we got home. She'd taken a picture of the Dr's. backside!! Oh heaven help me with this girl.
Celebrating St. Patrick's Day at the ENT. Cannon man has yet another ear infection and is getting tubes next week. My kids and their πŸ‘‚πŸ»! Photo by Capri. πŸ˜‚πŸ’š
Cannon loves to drive cars around his own head and in Daddy's shoes. That face!

Capri's drawings are getting more advanced and that means I get little treasures like this one. I love her.

Out of order pictures of Garden of the Gods.

Teaching Brendan how to butt scoot.

More pictures by Capri. I love seeing her perspective from the back seat in the pickup line.
Took Cousin Brendan and Aunt Shannon to the Denver Zoo today. Capri made a new best friend in Brendan, got a side eye from a Gorilla, was able to see a baby giraffe ("Dobby"), and a baby Gorilla. Cannon man slept through most of the zoo but loved being outside anyway. Enjoying the nice warm weather before it gets crazy again! ❤️🦍(swipe right for he cutest baby animals ever!)

Capri really loves Brendan!

Just napping at the zoo like it's his job. haha!
I have the cutest Grandma on the planet. She is one of my favorite people and I so hope I can be more like her someday. She turned 92 today! Man, I wish I could've been at her party! Happy Birthday and I Love you @vadaburden! πŸŽ‰ @andrea.dallimore That cake looks amazing!!

School was canceled because of snow, but ear tube surgery is still a go! Cutest/happiest baby at the hospital. πŸ’™

First stop of the day: Garden of the Gods in CO Springs. I've never been there before and it didn't disappoint! Beautiful hike on a beautiful day. Pikes peak is in the background. This is an hour south of us, but we can see Pikes Peak from our house. It's a big mountain! Capri has decided she loves to hike. She makes me nervous sometimes, but she was all smiles the whole way! πŸ”

Played tourist in CO Springs today with my sister and nephew. This is the "Seven Falls" by the Broadmoor. Capri climbed all 224 steps to the top! It was beautiful but a little overpriced and touristy for my taste. Still a fun little adventure for today!

Yesterday at our church service, I was asked to give a talk on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I learned on FB last night that one of my friends in CA just so happened to give a talk yesterday on the same topic and we both shared one of the same quotes. She posted this picture to go along with that quote, and I love it so much that I thought I'd share it also. Hopefully it can reach someone who needs it. Thank you Katelyn Duffy! "One of the great consolations of this Easter season is that because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we do not have to do so....Trumpeted from the summit of Calvary is the truth that we will never be left alone nor unaided, even if sometimes we may feel that we are. Truly the Redeemer of us all said, "I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you." --Jeffrey R. Holland
When you send your 7 year old off to pack himself for a vacation, you may or may not get: 2 pairs of baseball pants (that are both too small), 5 pairs of pajamas, a church sweater, baseball cleats, 2 pairs of baseball socks, a football trophy (to look at on the plane), a football pillow, and stuffed froggy. He did get underwear and his swimsuit. No regular socks or pants. Jared and I have been cracking up over here! I'm so glad I checked his suitcase! He was sure he was all ready to go. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
