Last week we babysat some friends of ours all day while their mom was in Utah for a funeral. My boys had lots of fun with the sweet little girls. It was really cute to see how different they were when playing with girls as opposed to boys. They are really growing up and it's so fun to see (and sad all at the same time!)
Brody and Olivia (She's 5)
Parker and Aubrey (She's 3)
Olivia wanted them to do a "parade"
They each took turns driving :)
Such cute little kiddos!
We also got to babysat one of our absolute favorite little babies, Baby Cannon. My boys LOVE Cannon! (and I love Cannon's parents--they are some of my favorite people in CT) Cannon loves Brody also. He smiles so big and talks and talks to Brody. As soon as Cannon came over they were both so excited to have a baby at our house. They doted on him but didn't understand why he couldn't chase them yet. So cute!
We have been loving the Olympics at our house!! We have been watching all the events and the boys have been enthralled. I've taken the occasion to teach them about America and what it means to be an American. It's cute to watch them get excited about the American flag, Michael Phelps, Gabby Douglas, etc. They get so excited about Michael Phelps!! This is their "I'm Proud to be an American" rendition:
One of our favorite parts of watching the Olympics has been seeing how they interpret what they see. When it was gymnastics, they set up a step stool in front of our bed and would use it as a "vault". They'd run, jump off of it and do a flip onto our bed. Then it was synchronized diving. They'd watch it together on the TV and then jump off the bed simultaneously when the divers went into the water. In the tub they'd pretend to be swimmers. Parker's favorite was pretending he was on the blocks and then "jumping" into the water (more like landing on his belly) and then pretending to swim. For the backstroke they'd lay on the floor and slide backwards across it. Now that Track and Field has started, you better believe there's been ever more running in our house! It's been really fun and I wish the Olympics were more frequent then every two years because they are some of my absolute favorite things ever! In fact, I think that's where my love for all things sports started--in my childhood watching the Olympics. Go Team USA! :)
