Our busy November just keeps going! Brody had his last two games of soccer for the season. Go Bulldogs!
Concentration:
Since I don't have enough going on, I volunteered to be the Team Mom for Brody's team. I'm not sure I'll do it again. Enough said. This was the end of the year pizza party I put together. The boys had a lot of fun and Brody was so excited to get his trophy!
I just thought these thank you cards Brody made were adorable. His Kindergarten writing is just too cute.
I like his pictures even better! He says this is Coach Troy and Brody. It's even accurate because Brody's soccer ball is green and coaches is the standard black and white. He's turning into quite a little artist. He's really enjoying it anyway! He spent a lot of time on these pictures.
This one is for Coach Dan. Coach Dan usually ran the drills where they had to dribble their ball around the trees.
Now both the boys have trophies! Their new favorite game is Brody hides his trophies and then draws Parker a treasure map to find them. Clever guy.
Coach Dan, Brody, and Coach Troy (who we also go to church with)
Last week sometime I decided I'd try to take pictures for our Christmas cards. I went outside and the kids halfway participated, but I didn't really love any of them. Lots of frustration, tears from the kids, and a bonked head, I decided this wasn't for me. I'm just not a professional! Also, in trying to make my Christmas cards, I discovered the ONLY family picture we have is in the hospital the day Capri was born. Not exactly Christmas card material. My friend here was running an amazing special on a family picture mini session, so we decided to do that! Hopefully my Christmas cards are a little better than this. ha!
Oh my boys and their super sensitive eyes. I love that they have the same pained, sun-is-in-my-face smile.
Sweet Capri was really tired and cold, so it wasn't her best smiling day. This one is my favorite if I had to choose one, though.
We moved inside to see if that would work any better. Only slightly. :/
The Saturday after Parker's birthday was just plain crazy. We had already promised Parker we'd go to Main Event for his birthday that day when he was invited to a birthday at Chuck E Cheese. So I took him to Chuck E Cheese in the morning, then we had Brody's soccer game, then Main Event, and cake/ice cream. Arcade overload!!! The boys loved it!
Parker and his best buddy Carter. Carter had never been to Chuck E Cheese before, so it was really fun to watch his big eyes take it all in!
Main Event with Dad. It took us a while to teach Parker to do ski ball like this and not throwing the ball like a baseball. He's going to be a great baseball player someday!
What us girls thought of the arcade:
A simulated roller coaster ride that the boys rode 5 times!! It was their favorite.
Okay, maybe she didn't mind being there. :)
Sunday morning mother/daughter cookie making. She's a great helper.
Same Sunday. When Brody got out of the car Jared thought he must've put Parker's pants on Brody because of how short they were. We looked at the tag and sure enough they were Brody's! They fit the week before. Someone is growing like a weed!
My little baby best friend:
I love this beautiful little baby. I don't know how I got so lucky to be her mom. Everyone that watches Capri just loves her and says what a laid back, good baby she is. I had a friend watch her today so I could go to the dentist and she literally didn't want to give her back. She watched her for 2 hours and Capri didn't make one peep. She just fell asleep, woke up, smiled, and ate. She's an angel.
I don't know if I put this on my blog yet, but Brody was selected at his Pediatrician's office to be a part of some artwork for their office expansion. Each of the 6 Doctors chose one boy and one girl patient 5 years old and up to participate. They drew a picture of their Dr. and their picture was drawn by an artist named Maciej Maga. You can read an article about him here . These will be on display at the office for a year and then we get to keep them. When they are sent home, the artist will provide us with a certificate of authenticity as well as a value to add it to our insurance. I feel very grateful that Brody was chosen for this project. He LOVED seeing his artwork on the wall. A lady walked by and told him maybe she'd be buying his artwork someday. His eyes got great big and he just smiled. He's a sweet boy.
The kids with their Dr., Dr. Diana. She is wonderful and she loves my kids, which I sure appreciate!
Closeup...
Just a glimpse into our dinner hour the other day. I think our family of 5 has outgrown our dinner table for 4. Ha! Capri may just get a center seat for a while! :) She doesn't seem to mind. Oh, and my boys had their shirts off because Sunday we hit a record high in Dallas or 87 degrees!!! It was ridiculous. We turned back on our A/C! Trying to feel the love for this warm weather around the holidays, it's just not happening yet. I sure love these cute faces, though!
Just a couple of stories:
*The week Parker turned 4, Jared wasn't home. I told him on Friday that when Dad got home we were going to celebrate his birthday the next day. He got all excited and said, "You mean, I'm going to be 5?!" I thought it was so funny. 4 just flew by for him! He was sad to learn that that was not the case.
*Brody has been doing some testing at school. He cracked me up because he told me he didn't like the example pages because the answer was already filled in. He liked the "fun" pages where he had to figure out the answers. Whose child is this?!
*Parker figured out how to do the monkey bars this week and is really proud of himself!
*Capri has found her voice and her toes. She likes to exercise both!
*Jared's project in Chicago has been extended until the end of March. Boo!
*Parker gave his first talk in Primary on Sunday. We weren't sure if he was going to do it or not. However, he proudly got up there, took hold of the microphone and spoke his talk. It was about being thankful. He helped me write it, so one of the things he said he was thankful for was candy. Well, when he said that all the kids laughed. Then everything Parker said after that was hilarious even if it was serious. Parker ate it up. Smiles from ear to ear! He's now asking when his next talk is. haha!
