June brought so many changes, endings, etc. I'm pretty sure I say that every month is crazy, but June really was! We put our house on the market on June 3rd. I think it took us two weeks and quite a few showings to sell it. It was an exhausting dance of clean every day, try to keep kids out of certain rooms, and keep everyone alive. Capri decided that I wasn't spending enough time with her so she'd try her hand at getting into mischief. She colored on walls, with highlighter on the carpet, and crayon on the slate tile. She would undo things as quick as I would do them and run away. I forgot how interesting 3 year olds can be! Let's start with a few pictures of the boys on their last day of school. They loved their time at Boals Elementary and it really was sad to see that time come to an end. We made wonderful friends at school and we all felt comfortable there. I hope that we can find that in their new school. Here is my big boy who is done with 2nd grade!
Last day of Kindergarten for this silly boy!
Little sister had to get in on the action:
1st/last day comparisons.
I was lucky to get to go to their end of year parties. Parker had a blast just letting loose and being with his buddies, who were surprisingly quite diverse. I'm so glad he made friends with so many different kids. He loved to know all the kids names and whose class they were in whether they were in Kindergarten or not. He always surprised me with who he knew!
Oh these little buddies. I'm so sad to be leaving our best friends here--the Johnstons. We will miss them so much. Parker and Carter went through two years of preschool and Kindergarten together. They were best buddies who did their share of competing and playing together. I'm so grateful for good friends!
Parker's best Kinder buddy, Roston.
Parker's fabulous Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Morrison. I love this lady and wish she could be Parker's teacher forever. She just got Parker. She helped push him and helped him to feel confident. She also helped him when she could see that he was headed for a meltdown due to his perfectionism. Parker gets really upset if he gets something wrong and she had lots of discussions with him on how mistakes are part of learning. I'm just so grateful for her for making Parker feel so loved and welcome at school. We will miss her that's for sure!
Brody had Miss Root in 2nd grade. Somehow he ended up with two 1st year teachers in 1st and 2nd grade and while I feel like that wasn't great for him, he still had a great year with his peers. It depended on the day whether he liked Miss Root or not, but we won't tell her that. It was a growing year for her let's say. haha!
Pretty sure this was the first time I'd gotten teary eyed over our move away from Texas. Having them walk out of school for the last time somehow made things seem so much more real. Thank you Boals Elementary for the wonderful first 3 years of Brody's schooling and for starting Parker off on a great foot!
That night Brody completed the requirements to move on to a green belt at Taekwondo. That means he had advanced to the 4th belt. I'm really proud of him for working hard and progressing in something new this year.
So happy to have Daddy there for the Belt test.
Capri has picked up a thing or two at teakwondo. She loved to pretend she was breaking the boards and was known to walk around saying, "Chun-bee!"
Brody with his great instructors: Master Lee and Master Choo.
The end of the year is SO busy. The day after school let out Parker had his end of baseball season pool party. The kids all had a blast and we will also miss this group of boys. Parker played with Carter, Bryce, Tate, Camden, and Parker R. for both seasons of baseball. They were some great kids.
Two days after school got out, Jared and the boys headed to Utah to Fish lake for a fishing trip. I'll need to get Jared's journal notes for this, but they all had a blast! The boys did a great job and caught a lot of fish. Most importantly, they really enjoyed spending time with their cousins and Grandma and Papa Musick. I'm so grateful they got to go on that great trip! I'm not sure I've ever seen such huge smiles on their faces. Hiking, shooting pellet guns, fishing, and camp fires are surely what little boys' dreams are made of.
I had a birthday in there somewhere, which as a mom of 4 kids in the middle of a move was really not too different from most other days. However, my mom and Jared both did their best to make it a special day for me and it was. I'm just grateful to be a healthy 33 year old mom with so much joy in my life! Capri also turned 3!! She is such a little ray of sunshine and has been making us smile for 3 whole years. She is sweet, sassy, tough, funny, dramatic, my biggest helper, a tail twister, artist, and daddy's little girl. We don't know what we'd do without her. We love you Capri Mickelle!
Little Cannon is my most snuggle bug baby and he kept me sane through the crazy of June. I stole hours of his snuggles every night as holding a sleeping baby has to be the best feeling in the world.
Almost 2 months old with the sweetest little smile:
This is a copy of the post I made announcing our move to many of our friends: "Oh this post is so bittersweet. Tomorrow this first house of ours is being put on the market. WE will be moving back to Colorado this summer as Jared transfers to the Denver office with his company. We are so sad to leave Texas and excited to be closer to family and back in CO. Texas has been our home for longer than any other place by double. The people we have met here have made a lifetime impression on us. Thank you for your friendship and for teaching me more than you will ever know. Frisco is a special place because of the people in it and I'm going to miss you all so much. It's taken me weeks to be able to talk about this without getting emotional and I've been in a bit of denial, but now that this is getting really, I better start accepting it. Colorado here we come!
That tree to the front left of our house just about did me in. I trimmed that whole thing with a hand shear. My hands were sore for weeks, but doesn't it look great!
Someone has decided that bath time maybe isn't so bad!
Rub a dub dub, Cannon in a tub:
Look at these sweet sleepy smiles:
Luckiest, tired momma:
Happiest baby around:
Just because she's beautiful even when she sleeps. This girl...
2 month appointment: 11 lb. 7 oz. (29th %) and 22.5" long (26th %) Still a little guy, but perfectly happy and healthy.
Just some cute big brothers playing with Cannon after his bath:
Out of order, but my mom is always so sweet to me on my birthday. It had been years since I'd had my own cake for my birthday. I thought it was so nice. Thank you, Mom!
Speaking of my mom: She is my hero. She had been there for all but a week of Cannon's life. I would not have survived this time of packing, cleaning, etc. getting my house ready to sell without her. She has saved my sanity by being the most selfless person I know. She has taken care of things I didn't even know I needed taken care of and has loved my kiddos as her own. She's taken care of Cannon so much so that I could get things done and has let me rest when I'm wiped. Cannon spent many hours just like this--sleeping on Grammy. She is a loved lady around here and one of the biggest blessings in my life. Thank you Mom! Thank you also to my dad for holding down the first at home so mom could come. Love you both and I'm so grateful to be your daughter. Cannon misses you already but is so excited to have you come back for his blessing!
Jared's brother Sammy just went into the Army. Before he left for boot camp Parker was concerned about Sammy getting killed in the Army. I thought this letter was so sweet that Sammy sent to calm Parker's fears. We love that Sam.
Just my little fair baby. I could eat that face it's so sweet.
Baby stretches are my favorite!
On Capri's birthday we took the kids to the pool. Holy moly is was so hot outside. I wasn't about to get in the pool with a baby, but he and I were just sitting there melting in the 100+ degree heat. My short term solution was dipping a burp rag in the water and putting it on his head to try to keep him warm. My other solution that quickly followed was leaving and spending time in my A/C in the car. ha!
The kids sure loved swimming with dad!
My buddy as we waited in the car for a house showing. There were days he ate every meal in the car, poor baby. Thankfully I think he survived okay. :)
Sometimes her sleeping arrangements are crazy.
Brody was so excited to get to cub scout camp for the first time. Even better was having Daddy volunteer for it.
Haircut day for the boys! Summer cuts about a month late. Pretty much where we were at. A little behind in life but still getting things done. Their hair cuts all of a sudden made them look so much older!
She's beautiful.
Before we left Brody says, "It's Great to Be a Guy!" haha! I love them.
I've decided that Parker resembles my cousin Kurt's son, Noah. Not exact, but you can tell they are related!
Someone is getting a little better at tummy time!
Checking out what goes on in a salon.
I think he enjoyed himself. ha!
He's getting so smiley and happy!
Just a couple of Capri and Cannon comparisons. Their noses are different but they still look a lot alike!
Well, we survived June! (Barely)
