Happy New Year! We are so excited to take on another year and watch our kids grow. We are so grateful for our many blessings in this crazy thing we call life!
Pinewood derby day for this handsome boy. We sort of forgot until Jared was about to leave last Sunday that it would need to be done before he got back, so mom was in charge. π¬We used an old car that we had done in Boise because I have zero woodworking skills, but I am pretty good at ordering weights, graphite, and putty on Amazon. We watched some YouTube videos and I did the best I could to help him. It was a middle of the pack kind of car, but we did the best we could! Better planning is in order next time as Jared tinkered with it after the races today (they had to turn it in last Thursday) and it did much better. Ha! His car did win "most aerodynamic" so I guess it wasn't all bad. ππππππ
Little miss had her first day of sunbeams!
Just the happiest sweet boy on the planet! Late night hanging out with mom.
First day of preschool!! We really weren't intending on starting her until next year, but when I called to put her on the waiting list, there just so happened to be an opening starting in January. She was so excited that we decided to give it a go! She's a social little bug so I think she will love it. Such a big girl!
Hanging out with my little buddy during preschool.
Spotted: My Brody walking to the car after school. Haha! It's cold!
Current temperature is 3 degrees and it snowed enough last night for school to be cancelled. I was on the phone with my dad laughing/complaining (let's be honest) that one of the only times I curse Jared's traveling job (especially when he's in FL where it's 75 degrees!) is when there's no one else to shovel outside except me. Not that I can't do it, but I really wasn't looking forward to it. He asked how many inches we got and when I got to the window I saw that my driveway/walkways had already been done. I asked my boys if they had seen someone come do it and they said, "Oh yeah, our new friends from church! The mom, dad, and one of the kids were doing it!" It brought tears to my eyes. To add icing on the cake, we had this container of soup in front of our front door. Thank you so much to our new friends--the "souperheros". I am SO grateful that you spent part of your snow day helping my family. You are amazing!!
These two really make my heart melt.
Such a beautiful view from our back deck after a snow storm. Words can't describe how happy it makes me to see the mountains outside my window every day.
This little boy has been trying to figure out how to crawl--without much success. He has the funniest little movement as he puts his face down on its side, lifts his bum up, and tries to push with his legs. It's not very efficient and he doesn't really going anywhere, but he's trying!
Baby blues! 9 month old cutie pie!
One of my great joys in life is also decorating my house for each holiday/season. I have also enjoyed repurposing items that came with my house. That glass holder had soap in it in my master bath. I washed it out, put ribbon around it and filled it with candy hearts. It makes me happy!
Someone got into my makeup.
Crawling lessons aren't going so well.
Oh how I wish I could freeze time. π#mycapri
When Texas friends become Colorado friends (plus a darling new friend)! We've only wanted them to be friends since before they were born. π Dance class for the win! That was the cutest thing ever! π―
This is mostly for my own memory, but this funny guy is 9 months old today! These are two of his favorite new tricks--growling and making noises with his hands. I also spy two new top teethers in there! Didn't I just post his 8 Months pictures yesterday? How is time flying by so fast?! π’We love our Cannon man! πΆπΌ
We checked out our first Avalanche Game. We sat in the nosebleed section (as in Brody literally got a nosebleed. haha!), and the Avs lost, but we had a great time anyway. We've never taken our kids to a hockey game and we weren't sure how it would go. Somehow they lasted the whole game and we didn't lose anybody. Success! The kids all did a lot of dancing, Cannon took a nap (only a 4th child could do that with all the noise!) and Jared and I just were along for the ride!
Snowy, snowy, snow day. ❄️
Literally 2 minutes after saying, "This is the worst day ever" because his sister got the last slice of cheese pizza, Parker comes and says, "I looked out the window and noticed our neighbors haven't shoveled their sidewalk. I should do some service for them like our friends did for us and go shovel it." Off he went to get his warm clothes on and head outside. I scratch my head at him sometimes. Love that tender heart under all that "passion"!
This sweet boy loves that school here doesn't start until 9 a.m. (that is until next year if some proposed changes go through and it switches to 7:45 ππ»). He gets up and reads for at least an hour every morning and is so happy he has time to play. I just wanted to remember this. Also, ππ»ππ» for Cannon man who slept all night long for the first time in his life!!! I feel like a new woman! π
Look who has curly hair! He's a Musick after all.
He still loves snuggling his momma. I LOVE it!
Capri's middle of the night shenanigans. Parker went through a phase like this too. I wake up in the middle of the night frequently finding all the lights on and Capri downstairs doing who knows what. This day she was making cupcakes out of sprinkles she found in the pantry. Ugh! At least she's creative!
First dance recital in the books! It was just too cute for words.
My Brody really is such a bookworm. He reads every spare moment that he can!
Watching football with big brother. Parker loves to teach Cannon all about it and tells him every play like Cannon totally understands what's going on. Ha! (Go Pats!) He also told me this week, "Cannon's face looks just like mine but without freckles. I hope when he gets freckles he looks just like me." Such a loved little baby and a sweet big brother.
Sister wanted in on the pictures. :)
Ticklish little monkey!
These two really are buddies lately and Jared and I comment frequently how cute it is to see Capri's nurturing side come out. She is very aware of baby Cannon and while she does her best to drive her big brothers crazy, she is as sweet as can be to her baby. At his 9 Month Dr. appt they had to take her out of the room because she wouldn't stop making him laugh long enough for the Dr. to listen to him. They have been tag teaming me all night every night this week (I'm averaging 3 hours of sleep a night...Grr), but these cute faces are hard to be mad at for too long. At least sometimes they smell good!
When baby takes a selfie. π
One of my favorite parts of my day is watching the boys come bouncing out to the car for pickup. I love that Brody especially is still happy to see his mom. Capri and I spend our time in the pickup line playing "I Spy". She never plays by the rules, but she thinks it's the best game ever!
My boys just wanted to match one day! haha!
We babysat our friend's little kids for a day and these two were so cute together! Ivy and Cannon are buddies!
Their big sisters are buddies too.
Parker also lost his first front tooth! Automatically makes him look older.
Parker is "Star of the Week" this week and brought home this huge green star to decorate. My favorites were: 1. Things that make me happy....Cannon (pictured with a mustache), my grandparents, and sports. 2. I like to read about...Star Wars and football. He literally checked out 20 books from the library about football teams in the NFL and can now tell you players on each team. 3. I wish....that my mom could have another baby. He says, "I know it's not going to happen but it just says wish. That's what I wish could happen." π 4. Pets...we can't have pets until my baby brother is bigger so I just play with him. 5. Words that describe me...motivated, athletic, happy, and helpful. 6. Things that make me sad...leaving my friends. Parker is also sporting a new lost front tooth and looks a year older overnight. 1st grade Parker is pretty π£.
60 degrees in January called for our first trip to the Denver Zoo. My animal loving daughter was in 7th heaven. ππ¦
