I haven't written about this on my blog yet as I wanted to make sure everything went okay, but we found out in August that I was pregnant again! I have a hard time putting into words what this pregnancy journey has been for us, but I'm going to try for my family history. I had just had my 6th miscarriage in July, so we were pretty surprised and obviously super nervous when I got pregnant a month later. I was able to start my medications right away and see my Dr. and I've been well taken care of. I had appointments and ultrasounds every week from week 2 to week 14. It was amazing to watch this little baby grow from literally nothing on the screen (they weren't sure I was even pregnant again or if my numbers were still elevated from my miscarriage), to resembling a little baby in such a short time. I was put on bedrest for 2 months of that time shortly after Brody's baptism due to some complications I was having. Thankfully my mom and Grandma Burden were here for 6 weeks and helped to take care of me and my family. We were also very blessed that Jared was able to work from home during that time. When I was 13 weeks and 1 day he received his new project out of town. Those months are a bit of a blur. Being on bedrest during a first trimester is emotionally and physically taxing. I felt like I might go crazy more than once and was so blessed to have the support around me that I needed. I'm so grateful for Jared and his calming manner during those times. My pregnancies are such a mix of emotions. The medications I take make me feel miserable and it's incredibly hard for me to sit still. It was so nice to have my Grandma hang out with me too! I have wonderful friends who brought me meals, books, adult coloring books, movie tickets, etc. I saw the Lord's hand in my life more times than I can count and I'm so grateful for that. Thankfully, I made it through my first trimester! Here's to Musick baby #4!
While I was on bedrest, Jared took on some serious Dad duties. He went to the Boosterthon, took Brody to Taekwondo, took Capri to a 2 year old's birthday party at a farm, etc. He was a trooper. My mom helped me take care of the day to day tasks around my house, with meals, etc. and I don't know what I would've done without her. I'm so blessed with such a selfless mom! Jared took some pictures and videos for me at the Boosterthon this year. My boys ran hard and had a wonderful time. Jared said Parker was incredibly focused and Brody was just happy the whole time! He had people comment on both boys that we may have some long distance runners on our hands.
Parker's little class and his amazing teacher, Mrs. Morrison.
Look at those long running legs!
Happy little running man...
Capri had her annual appointment at the Scottish Rite hospital for her collarbone. They were really happy to see how well she's doing! They have the same recommendation of just wait and see for now. She looked so cute, I had to snap some pictures of my favorite girl!
Parker has taught her a thing or two about funny faces in the mirror:
When the weather was nice, Parker and Brody brought all kinds of toys and color books into the playset. They've been calling it their "tree house". They spent so much time up there and I loved it!
I got a call from the Vice Principal at school with a "Positive Referral" for Parker. It's a big deal as not many of these are given out during the year. His teacher said she only gives out maybe two a year if that. I'm amazed at how well Parker is doing at school. He works so hard for the rewards and is amazingly well behaved. I'm so grateful for that! He loves to learn and is progressing very well. He's turned into quite a writer and is very serious about his homework. He works very hard on it!
We love Sunday night movie night with daddy!
...usually followed by a good amount of this:
If you give a Capri a cookie...
Her face as she watches "Frozen". This girl is obsessed!
I was beta testing picture outfits and snapped this really quick. I ended up tweaking the outfits, but these three still looked pretty darling!
We took Capri and my Grandma to Grapevine Mills Mall one day when I just really needed to get out of the house. We let Capri ride on this over and over, but learned a valuable lesson about letting Capri out of the stroller. My poor mom was sweating from chasing Capri by the time we were done. She is one fast 2 year old!
Excited about her new Halloween outfit!
She looks like a little ballerina!
My mom got Capri these little cups and pots. I love watching her play and watching her brain work. She's very particular about matching all of the colors. She's related to Brody!
One of my other favorite things she's doing lately. When she's outside playing you can hear her everytime a plane flies over saying, "Hi airplane!" She loves airplanes like her momma and never misses one!
These two have developed quite a funny relationship. She dishes it out to Parker just as much as he does to her. They are buddies and torment each other all at the same time. I love it!
Out of order picture from Grapevine Mills. She makes the best facial expressions. I think this one is, "Ummmm....."
How Capri has been watching any parts of movies that make her nervous. I think it's adorable!
The boys got their school pictures back. Parker's pictures never disappoint. His frown smile cracks me up. That takes talent to do both at the same time!
My Brody is looking dapper as usual and way too big lately.
Brody started scouts and is loving it! I think he's the cutest cub scout I ever did see!
All of my kids have been really into coloring lately. I find them coloring every morning and it's the first thing they do when they get home from school. Little budding artists around here!
Capri's one afternoon of sidewalk chalk outside. She is also quite the little artist! No surface is safe!
On to more fall fun soon!
