Capri's Baby Blessing, Father's Day, and My Birthday

June 15th was a wonderful, fun-filled day! We had three occasions going all the same time. I turned the big 31, we were lucky enough to have both of our fathers with us for Father's Day, and it was Capri's blessing Day. Jared's parents both came to visit, along with my dad. Cathy made Capri's beautiful dress. It fit her perfectly and I loved it! She looked like such a princess. Jared gave Capri a beautiful blessing at our home surrounded by our friends and family. I'm so grateful for Jared and for his love for his daughter. She really couldn't have her dad more wrapped around her finger, and he just adores her. The men who participated in the circle were Jared, my Dad, Jared's Dad, Bryan Johnston, Keith Willis, Dan Rugg, Jon Kendall, and Pete Theurer. It was actually a very unique, special experience for me too because I got to hold Capri while she received her blessing. I've never been in the middle of a blessing circle without being the one who receiving the blessing. We timed it so we woke her up for her blessing, and she didn't move a muscle or make a sound. I'm so grateful for my sweet little girl and the blessing that she is in our family. I really can't imagine our family without her and I am so grateful she came to our family at this time. She brings so much joy to all of us and has been a link for all of us to come together.
Playing at church during Sunday School. She's a mess maker in a pretty dress.

Thank you to all of you who sent well wishes and came for Capri's big day and for my birthday. It was a wonderful, special day and one of the happiest days I've had. Pretty sure I had a smile plastered on my face all day long. We love you all and especially our pretty little lady! XOXO Miss Capri!

Safety Town and End of Baseball Season

Last weekend we had the busiest weekend we've had in a while. In the summer, one weekend each month, the Safety Town in Frisco opens up to anyone to come and drive the little cars. They usually reserve them for school field trips. Brody had been able to go before, but now it was Parker's chance! We headed over there expecting it to be really busy, but were pleasantly surprised when it was pretty quiet. The boys had a great time! Now this was our third trip to Safety Town and unfortunately something new happened this time--we traumatized them. Both boys came home so petrified that our house was going to start on fire. Neither of them would go to sleep, we had to say lots of prayers, and I'm pretty sure they both ended up in our beds that night. Sorry kids!

The next day, Brody had his last baseball game of the season. Brody wasn't the biggest fan of baseball, but I was proud of him for trying it anyway, and sticking it out. His favorite part was his crazy coach. He really was a nut, but the kids loved him! Pretty sure when they got in this team picture, Coach Byrd turned to Brody and said, "Who do I have here? Ah, Brody! I wondered what smelled so bad!" Hence the big smile from Brody. He made him laugh and helped Brody have lots of fun this season. Pretty sure he won't be trying it again anytime soon, and that's just fine.

Getting his trophy at the after party at Gattitown:

Capri was so tired and not loving Gattitown, but I thought this picture was so funny. Her feet look huge!
Brody and Coach Adam Byrd. Coach gave them all those little necklaces. Brody has worn it a few times since and thinks it's pretty cool.
For their last activity, we told them they could do the bounce house for 5 minutes. Well, Parker climbed up a ladder in the bounce house and jumped off. When he landed we heard him start screaming. Jared ran over and he was bleeding profusely from his mouth. Jared took him in the bathroom, where we discovered he'd bitten his tongue really bad. It was a deep puncture wound so we hustled him out to the urgent care. It bled for over an hour, but the Dr. said he was lucky and didn't need stitches. Since he was already on an antibiotic for his ear infection he was covered in that department and we just had to change his diet for the next 48 hours. I'm sure it won't be our last trip to Urgent Care for that guy!

Preschool Graduation, End of Kindergarten, and Little Sister

The beginning of June brought a lot of chapters closing. The first one was Parker's pre-school co-op. We loved doing the co-op with our friends and I'll be a little sad when Parker goes to real pre-school next year. I think it'll be a good transition for him before Kindergarten, though. To celebrate the end of our year, we had a little pre-school graduation:

Such a big kid! I love this little smile of his. I'll be sad when he starts smiling for real. :)
All the boys: Camden, Parker R., Carter, Jace, and my Parker
I hope Brody doesn't hate me for this one, but I love the way his brain works and wanted to write this down. He decided he doesn't like to take a shower in any other shower in our house except the one in the Master Bathroom. Why, you ask? No, not because it's bigger or cleaner, but because it's a glass shower. Why does he like the glass shower? Because he LOVES to squeegee it when he's done! He spends longer getting the glass clean then he does actually taking a shower. He gets every last drop off the glass. He cracks me up and is so his father's son!
This girl had a rough start to June. The last week of school she decided to get all 4 top teeth at the same time, which resulted in another ear infection. The kicker was that Brody got strep throat for the 7th time this school year during the last week of school. I see my pediatrician way too often.
The boys had a dentist appt. (no cavities for either of them...hooray!) Capri and I sat in the waiting room and had fun taking pictures. Love this errand buddy of mine.
Capri is trouble! She's discovered the bathroom and I often have to chase her out of there. Today I found her in the front bathroom eating toilet paper. Oh my, girlfriend!
Look at that cute face, though!
Parker likes to put underwear on his head. Capri is following suit with a.....Kitchen aid? She thought this was hilarious!
We went to Brody's baseball game when Ashley and my dad were here. It was a long, hot game and we discovered a new way to keep the little two entertained. This is now one of their favorite games!
After a while of the hot/humid game, it decided to pour down rain on us. We were soaked in 5 minutes flat! Love the Brody photo bomb back there:
 Capri wore Parker out:
Pretty much every morning I find one of the boys in Capri's crib with her. One day I thought it was so cute because I woke up to find Brody just relaxing and reading a book with her in his bed. Such sweet big brothers!
Capri has also been known to cry in the middle of the night lately because her legs keep getting stuck. Sometimes it doesn't wake her up...
One day I took Parker and Capri out shopping with me. We ran into AAA to get some maps for our upcoming trip and then headed to make a return at Kohl's. Parker and I came into Kohl's and as we walked I thought he was right behind me. I turned around to see this and laughed out loud. I had no idea that he had taken a map out of the bag we had in the car and tucked it in his pocket. He opened it up as he walked and was checking it out as he walked just to make people laugh. He cracks me up!
Brody also had his last day of school on June 6th. For their end of the year party, they had some animals brought in for the kids to look at.
Not sure about the tarantula. I really wasn't sure about it when the lady dropped the cage in front of the moms and the tarantula started crawling out. The moms all plastered ourselves in the wall and got a good laugh out of ourselves.
  Touching a snake...

 Petting a potbelly pig:
Capri's experience at the end of year party. She looks rather relaxed, doesn't she?
Standing in line for popcorn and snow cones with Brody R. and Abby:
Can't believe this guy is already done with Kindergarten. Seems like just yesterday he was walking in with his over sized backpack. I sure love you, Brody boy!
Capri has also had quite a few play dates lately with her little friends. Capri and Lauren:
Hard to believe this girl is almost a year old. She really does melt my heart:

The future first grader and the second year pre-school student. Summer here we come!
