Parker is 6! (and a few extras)

My 6 year old Parker loves to write. We find notes all over the house that he's written. He's also a huge fan of to-do lists and is my calendar guy when it comes to checking every day off. I never ask him to, it's just always done! This was a chore chart he made for himself and put from and center on the fridge. I smile every time I see it.
I wrote a whole post about baby brother, but due to some special things I wrote in there, I don't want to share it on my blog. This is my reminder for myself to include my draft into my blog book for family history purposes! We are SO excited to add a little boy caboose into this family!
Just a homeless child I picked up downtown Frisco. No, she likes to wear her Dad's beanies and found a green marker in her carseat. This was her design as we drove home before I caught her. She's quite the artist!

Parker came home with a "disguise the turkey" project. I offered to help him but he wouldn't let me touch it. I was a little afraid of what he'd come up with so I had him practice on a copy beforehand. I didn't need to, though, because what he came up with was darling! He did this all by himself. He asked me for help gluing the googley eyes, but other than that, this was all Parker. I bring you the "Superhero Minion Turkey" by Parker:
Parker's birthday was on a school day, but we knew he wouldn't be able to wait until after school for presents. Thankfully Jared was home so we got right to it early in the morning! He was very excited and animated as usual.

Every morning he would wake up and go check Brody's clock to see if he could get out of bed yet. He'd give me a to-the-minute report of when he woke up. He was SO excited to have his very own clock for his side of the room! A Lego Batman clock.
Really, really happy to have new action figures!
This picture just makes me laugh because of how Brody is sitting. haha!
Starburst. What little boy dreams are made of.
Checking out his new books. He's about halfway through the first one and is really enjoying "The Boxcar Children". Thank you, Mimi and Poppy!
A little flashback to my chubby, happy, Gerber baby. He was so tough sometimes but so delightful at others. I can't believe this teeny baby boy is now 6! It makes me excited to have another baby around here, though. I wonder if he'll look like a grown up from the get-go like Brody or a Gerber baby like Parker. Or maybe just his own person like Capri was. Genetics fascinate me!
 6 going on 16
Mom and Capri went to join him for school lunch. He still has the best facial expressions. Glad he hasn't outgrown those!

Remember a few posts ago how I had taken the boys to the Urban Air in Southlake over the summer to do the Ninja Warrior course (only to be told Parker was too young)? Well, he had been counting down days until he got to go back when he was 6. Right after school we picked up Jared and off to Urban Air we went! Trouble was, 5 minutes after we got in there we were put on lockdown because of a tornado warning. The lady next to us had seen the funnel coming down when she came in and all of us sat around the news station watching this crazy November weather. Parker was scared out of his mind and not happy at all that it was interfering with his birthday celebration. Thankfully, all was well and we got to go on celebrating!
We were really proud of our usually timid Brody boy getting in the ring to "battle" other kids. He did this over and over for a long time and was pretty good at it!
My boys battling each other and their little cheerleader looking on. She thinks she's so big at these trampoline places. There's no holding her in a little kid area. She roams free and holds her own!

Parker had his birthday planned out for months. He wanted to go to BJ's and get a pizookie for dessert so that's what we did! I'm just now noticing that cowboy in the background. What in the world?! Welcome to Texas.
Parker on the Ninja Warrior course:
Mr. Parker keeps us on our toes, makes us laugh, and has the best imagination of any kid I know. He is athletic, a tormenter of his siblings, and awesome reader, and passionate about everything he does. He's grown up so much in the last year and we are really proud of who he is becoming. We love you Parker man and Happy Birthday!

Halloween 2015!

Halloween fell on a Saturday this year, which was great! We got to go to the Arboretum and Trick-or-treat as a family, grab some dinner, and come home to enjoy the neighborhood festivities. I love kids in costumes and I think they are so funny. They always bring a huge smile to my face. I think Tinkerbell was my favorite this year. :)

In the nature of Tinkerbell being a bit "stinkerish", I bring you Capri. I told her not to step on the grass and this is what she does. Mischief maker!

Most angelic Tinkerbell on the planet.
Spiderman, Tink, and a Storm Trooper

 Never a dull moment...

Tinkerbell running around was cracking everyone up. Cutest tinkerbell ever!

Surprisingly, my boys really loved the carriage also. They didn't want to get out. ha!

Capri understood Trick-or-treating for the first time this year. She loved going up to houses and getting candy. She also loved the houses with dogs. If she heard a dog inside, she'd try to go in to go see the doggie. Any she saw out on the street we had to stop for so she could pet and talk to them. Somehow all of my kids ended up animal lovers--like their Daddy! The kids all ate their weight in candy, stayed up way too late, and had a blast. Just like Halloween should be.
