Just a couple of quick stories I want to write down so I don't forget. Today, my dad had taken Brody to Taekwondo, Capri was sleeping, and the boys were all finished with their homework. Parker asked if he could play the iPad for a little bit while Brody was gone. I told him that was fine and went on my way. He comes to me about 30 minutes later with tears in his eyes. He sits down next to me and says, "Mom, I made a bad choice." I had no idea what was about to come out of his mouth! He says, "Well, my timer went off at 20 minutes, I just kept playing. When my next game ended I thought to myself that I could make a good choice and turn it off or a bad choice and keep playing. I decided to make a good choice. I turned it off and thought I should tell you I made a bad choice by not quitting when my timer went off." He cried and gave me a big hug. I told him I was so proud of him for not only making a good choice in the end but telling mom about his bad choice. We got to have a discussion about mistakes and how he did the right thing. It was just such a cute little moment to me. He may have some wild ways about him but hopefully his guilty conscience keeps him in line! The funniest part about that story is I never actually told him he had to set a timer! I'm proud of him.
Tonight when Capri got out of the bath her hair was brushed out and wet which makes it super long. Her curls pull it back up to a little below her shoulders once it's dry, but when it's wet its SO long! Anyway, she took her hair, put it all to one side and squished it between her cheek and shoulder. She says, "Mom, my hair like Elsa's" with the biggest smile on her face. It's amazing to me that she's so girly with two big brothers but it cracks me up!
We were talking as a family last night about what we might do this summer. It's really too far to be planning that but my family is having a reunion over the 4th of July so we are trying to figure out if/how we are going to make our trips this summer with a newborn. Jared told the boys that mom would kind of like to fly on an airplane this time and asked what they wanted to do. I guess I've made road trips too fun for them because they both chose the long road trip! Brody said he loves the parts of staying in hotels, the listening to books, and playing funny games in the car. Parker liked the travel tickets you can turn on for rewards system that I tried out last year. It kind of shocked me and I'm not sure we'll actually make that drive, but I thought it was cute that they were up for it. Capri and new baby brother on the other hand...
That's all for now! Just wanted to jot those down. These little people of mine are getting too big, too fast!
